Ring: free messages and encrypted calls with the people who matter

Ring by Daysli is a free browser app for chats and end-to-end encrypted voice calls with your connections. No public directory, no feed, no ads.

Some people you want to talk to without joining another social network. Ring is for them.

Ring by Daysli runs in your browser at ring.daysli.com. It does four things:

  • Chats with the people you are connected with, with delivered and read receipts.
  • Voice calls, end-to-end encrypted between the two devices. A short safety code lets you check you are talking to the right person.
  • People: the people you are connected with, and the people who want to connect.
  • Today: your plans for the day and who is waiting for you.

It is free, including calls between connected people.

How people find you (and how they don't)

There is no public directory and no search for people. You connect through a personal invitation link you share, or by someone typing your exact Ring name. Block and report are one tap away, blocking stops messages and calls both ways, and limits stop repeated unwanted calls.

Getting started

  1. Open ring.daysli.com and sign in with your email. There is no password: Daysli sends a six-digit code.
  2. Go to People and share your invitation link with someone.
  3. When they accept, say hello in Chats.
  4. To call, go to Calls, choose your Ring name and turn calls on. Then call from the chat.

Ring installs as an app from your browser. A browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox, which keeps Ring in your toolbar, is on its way to the browser stores.

What is private, exactly

Calls are end-to-end encrypted: Daysli cannot listen. Messages are encrypted in transit and at rest and stored by Daysli so they reach every device you use. They are not end-to-end encrypted, and Ring says so. Message text appears in notifications only if you turn that on.

Ring and Daysli

Ring uses your Daysli account. Ring is only for talking. Daysli is the full platform, with your calendar, to-dos, goals in My Life, People notes, your page and an encrypted journal. Start with whichever you need; the people you connect with are there in both.
